The cost of routine eye exams and prescription eyewear can be of real concern, especially for large families. In many cases, vision insurance can lower these annual expenses.

A vision insurance policy is not the same as medical insurance. Regular medical health insurance plans protect you against financial losses due to unexpected eye injuries or disease. Vision insurance, on the other hand, is a wellness benefit designed to provide routine eye care, prescription eyewear and other vision-related services at a reduced cost.

**Note– We do not take Davis Vision and Specterra plans.

Please check with your insurance plan if you need to obtain a referral from your Primary Care doctor, especially for medical eyecare. Although referrals are not usually required for routine eye exams, HMO plans require you to get a referral before you get medical eyecare for injuries, diseases and emergency office visits.

When was the last time you or your child visited an optometrist? Many individuals who don’t wear contact lenses, and don’t suffer from eye conditions such as dry eye, glaucoma or macular degeneration, tend to forget to visit their eye doctor as often as they should. Our Fairfax optometrists recommend to have a complete eye exam every one to three years, depending on your age, eye health history and risk factors.

Our practice in Fairfax, VA is located inside the Fair Oaks Mall LensCrafters on the lower level, under The Cheesecake Factory.
