Let's face the facts - we're totally dependent on our mobile devices. Tablets and smartphones are super handy when it comes to being in touch when we're on the go. Nevertheless many people have a habit of holding their phones and tablets very close to their faces. Small text and images require your eyes to work much harder just to focus properly. After some time, this has been found to cause difficulty with focus and vision, especially if you already wear glasses. Some research shows evidence that when people who wear glasses spend a lot of time holding a device at a closer than normal distance, the eyes have a rough time correcting for distance. This puts strain on your eyes, and you end up with headaches or migraines, which aren't pleasant.

In addition to this, too much screen time can reduce your blink rate, and that can cause dry eyes and blurry vision.

But we can't all just stop using our phones. So what's the solution? In order to prevent these symptoms resulting from the use of our smartphones and tablets, it is recommended to make the text on your device much bigger and ensure that you keep your phone as far from your eyes as you can. It's also good to try and frequently take breaks from staring at your phone. Learning to be smart about your smartphone will protect your eyes.
